Brighter does not always mean safer. A light source must work with the lamp optics so pattern, focus, and glare remain controlled.
Questions before deciding
Bring vehicle context and usage patterns. Good answers narrow the options and identify the inspection required.
- Lamp function, housing type, reflector or projector, and original source.
- Beam pattern, cutoff, intensity, color, distance, and rain or fog conditions.
- Power, heat, driver, fan, space, sealing, CAN monitoring, and errors.
- Aiming and applicable road-use rules.
Useful checks
Use these checks as a starting point for handover. Final scope still depends on the vehicle, product, and agreed work.
- Compare the beam on a flat surface before and after.
- Avoid excessive glare or new dark areas.
- Test dashboard errors, radio, heat, fans, and all light modes.
- Recheck sealing, connectors, and aim after use.
